HOW DO I...
MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

Some surgery consultations are by appointment. Please telephone or call to make an appointment. It is helpful if you can tell the receptionist if more than one member of the family needs treatment. If you consider your case to be very urgent, please tell the receptionist. If making appointments for smears, medicals or family planning, please let us know as these take more time. If you cannot keep your appointment please let us know as soon as possible.

Thank you.

HOW DO I...
OBTAIN A HOUSE CALL?

House calls are for patients who genuinely cannot attend the surgery. Please make a request for a visit before 10.00am if possible. Patients should be in bed when the doctor calls as a full examination may be necessary. We are always anxious to see SICK CHILDREN promptly. The receptionist may ask you to wrap the child up and bring them to the surgery by car or by taxi so they can be seen without delay. This applies to just about any sick child, even when they have a fever. This helps to put your mind at rest without the delay of waiting for a house call.

HOW DO I...
OBTAIN TEST RESULTS?

Please phone between 11.30am - 12.30pm and 2.30 - 4.00pm to avoid peak times.

BLOOD TESTS - Five working days.

X-RAYS - Seven to ten working days.

SMEAR TESTS - Five to six weeks.

TESTS ORDERED BY THE HOSPITAL - All enquiries should be directed to the hospital and NOT to the practice. To maintain confidentiality, results will only be given to patients in person or to parents if the patient is under 16.
